Experienced entrepreneur and investor
Paul Santos is Managing Partner at Wavemaker Partners and led the establishment of the Singapore-headquartered Southeast Asia office in 2012. He has made over 100 investments across Southeast Asia with more than 80% of them in enterprise and deep tech startups. Companies that have managed to raise significant financing rounds include Zilingo, ThinCI, Moka, and CashShield. Companies that have achieved significant traction include Wavecell, Red Dot Payment, Lynk, Structo, Growsari, and Silent Eight. Exits include Luxola (acquired by LVMH), Pie (acquired by Google), and Coins.ph (acquired by Gojek).
Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Paul was an entrepreneur who had co-founded six companies across multiple industries and sold three of them. His angel investments are in non-tech companies in industries like distribution, education, and logistics.
Paul sits on the Advisory Board of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Innovation Center. He is an Advisor to the Singapore Management University (SMU) Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) where he is also an Adjunct Faculty Member. He is also a member of the Singapore chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO).
